Archetypes for Everyone

Archetypes for Everyone

Archetypes make personality traits visible and relatable. Common archetypes are familiar, appearing frequently in our everyday language.

Some Creative Archetypes derive from common traditional roles such as Mother or Father.

Many are drawn from vocations, like Writer or Architect.

Some describe stages of accomplishment, including Captain or Chief.

Others originate from action, such as Facilitator or Networker.

Some reflect intrinsic human qualities that are abstract, like Romantic or Hero.

And others represent the realm of faith, including Mystic or Alchemist.

The Elements Kit divides 120 Creative Archetypes into six Elements or 'life themes'.

While the Creative Archetypes include Artist and Musician, they are not exclusive to artistic pursuits such as the visual or performing arts. Nor are they reserved for the most artistically talented among us.

While many archetypes reflect literal job roles, such as Psychologist or Nurse, it’s important that we refer to archetypes symbolically. Even if we haven’t worked in these professional roles, we may identify with the personal traits these archetypes represent.

Interestingly, certain archetypes can dominate a specific experience or period in your life. Others may lay dormant until triggered by a specific circumstance.
